When I checked the entire book, I noticed that this is a good one to review for your Licensure Professional Engineering examination. It was a good choice but until now I haven’t had a chance to register to take the California Professional Engineer Licensure exam.

  2. I used this book as well as all of my undergraduate books. I took the exam in April 11th 2008 for reference and took the electronics, communication and controls portion. I would say this book was ok. It gives you a good lead to other topics to cover but never covers any topic in depth. To use this alone to review for your PE would be shooting yourself in the foot. It will give you topics and it is your job to use your other books from undergrad for in depth examples and challenges. What this book could do to improve is have more relevant examples and more examples period. Many of the things in the book are not covered on the test and the items in the book that are covered and are on the test, dont really get enough practice. Hopefully it leads to my passing but overall, it was decent.

This book is well-written and has a lot of pertinent information inside, but I feel like I wasted my money buying this book. I have never really used it when preparing for the exam; instead, I have been using my undergraduate textbooks which are far more uselful in preparing for the exam. So only buy this book if you have sold back your undergrad books or if they were horribly written.
