I was in the B&B bookstore Today and looked for a Pro Tools book to help me for my class. The first moment I picked up this book, Pro Tools 6 Power!, I just couldn’t think of anything but one, why on earth would anyone wants to print their book all bold?
Not only the title of the sections were in bold, but every word in paragraphs in the book were all printed in bold, and in all san-serif type face. Pardon me, because I know a bit about graphic design, you may say I was picky. However, from my point of view, whether you understand graphic design or not, it just a very HARD TO READ book, no matter how well this book was written! I didn’t review the contents of this book because I couldn’t scan through the contents like I did for the other books; when everything looks all bold and same font size, it’s hard to tell whether you’re reading at something interesting or not.
Maybe the author wants to emphasize “Power!” as this book suggested on its title, but instead using too much “Power!”(boldness) for this book, he cripple it and made it unlegible.
*I give only one star to this book just because the legibility/readability issues, not the contents. Maybe somebody could do a rating for the contents, just to be a bit fare for this book…

In spite of the previous anal-retentive reviewer obsessed with fonts and bold type…
This is an excellent source book for anyone wishing to delve into the world of Pro Tools v.6x. My brother is in school to get a degree in audio engineering, and this book is the Bible of the course on Pro Tools. It can be used by beginners and experts alike, as it is easy to read and simple to find information. You can read it all the way through, jump to sections, or just pick and choose which subjects you want to learn about.
My band has released a CD that was recorded on Pro Tools, and we are very happy with the results. However, I feel that there is much more to know about this powerful recording tool, and wish to take our music to the next level. This book will be a great asset in my quest for recording excellence. I highly recommend it.

This book is amazing! Worth the money and is a 5-star book. Has just about every single thing you need to know about both Pro-Tools TDM Version and LE Version. And for a good price, it’s worth the money. This is one book that I will never want to give away or sell. BUY THIS BOOK!
