    I ask the publisher and the author: Is another edition of this text really necessary?

    The material in this edition is no different than the previous. The explanations on soil testing and soil behavior are still very deficient. There are no improvements made. Oh, I almost forgot: we have a brand new cover and it does look better.

    The book is full of errors, examples, tables and so on, which the author nor the publishers seems to have fixed from the previous issues.
