Other Corridor Activities

 

A number of related activities are underway in the corridor. Fact sheets decribe some of these efforts.

SR 46 East Widening Project "Union Segment"

Caltrans project to widen 46 East is proceeding. The first $35 million construction phase will widen a five-mile section from Airport Road east to Geneseo Road. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2010.

US 101/SR 46 East Interchange Improvements

The proposed project includes various improvements to 13th Street overcrossing, additional US 101 southbound on/off ramps at 17th Street and an additional left-turn lane from westbound SR 46 onto southbound US 101.

US 101/SR 46 West Interchange Improvements

The proposed project includes reconstruction of the on and off-ramps and relocation of Theatre Drive to a new intersection with SR 46. Interchange reconstruction would include two new roundabouts. Adjacent frontage roads would be either redirected into the new roundabouts or relocated away from the interchage.
